CONCEPT:
O Encontro das aguas is a phenomenon that occurs in the heart of the Amazon. It’s a fusion or a confluence between the “Rio Preto” river of black water and the “Solimões” river of muddy water. The rivers run side by side for 6 Km without mixing until they finally fuse.
This inspired my idea of what Utopia means for me, a place where two different things can coexist, meld together until they erase the separation line between them and become one.
There is no better example of this in nature than the “Encontro das aguas” in the amazon river. “Encontro” means meeting and this is what I wanted to portray with my art. A meeting between Nature and Humans, that if we don’t watch out for nature this fusion will cease to disappear, the rivers will disappear. The transparency portrays that fragility of the river but also the lack of boundaries. It’s a dark future for nature but if we do our part, we could reach an utopian paradise of coexistence with Human and Nature.

DESCRIPTION:
This versatile brooch is designed to attach to the lapel of a jacket or any other garment, adding a unique touch of elegance. The prototype features a plastic tube shaped to resemble a flowing river, with a golden wire running through it. The final piece would ideally be crafted from transparent silicone or 3D printed with real gold inside, creating a striking contrast and a luxurious finish. Its flexible design allows it to be shaped in various ways, enabling it to be worn in different forms on different parts of any garment, offering endless styling possibilities
